    Hey everyone,
I’m new to the forum, I’ve been into the hobby for 2 years and had my reef setup for about a year now. I recently just got a new skimmer. I got the CPR Bak Pak Dual Pak, I love the skimmer. It works great and pulls a lot out of the tank. The problem that I have and I don’t know if its user error or it just the way the skimmer is but the skimmer is on the noisy side. The skimmer runs 2 maxi jet 1200’s and I’ve done what some threads suggested and that was to extend the airlines and open them up completely. I’m not expecting the skimmer to be silent but I think it should be a little quieter. Also I have some micro bubble still entering the main tank. Is there something I can do? I think it is but not entirely sure but is it normal that after I feed to get an unusual amount of micro bubble in the tank? Thanks everyone for taking the time.

I got a wooden diffuser from Petco and it DRASTICALLY reduced the noise. I can still hear it slightly, but certainly not as loudly. Also, I've had my Bak Pak running for 2 months now and I still have microbubbles. My LFS told me that I was using a bad Dechlorinator and that was causing my bubbles. I put some carbon in my backpak and started doing 10% water changes every few days with my new dechlorinator. Haven't seen much change, but I'm still holding out hope.

I have been running my dual pak for approx 2 months now, I use ro/di and I even made a in unit bubble trap(Pic on another of my threads) and I still get minor amounts of micro bubbles that i really dont mind. They make a in unit bubble trap I'm not sure if its for the bak pak 2 or not, thats where i got the idea to make my own intenal trap. I also talked with someone from CPR and they gave me the run around that you need to buy the external bubble trap and it all depends on the chemisty in your system.
