    Well the bubbles are gone the noise is hear to stay.. Im getting used to the sound.. :)

    If the noise is from the air entering the airline, you can make a silencer very easily, if the noise is from the pump, there is not much you can do.

    To make a silencer get an old 35MM film canister or something like that. Poke a hole in the lid, and a couple of holes in the bottom. Push the air line into the hole in the lid, and then fill the canister with some batting, put the lid on. The multiple holes on the bottom will keep it from makeing much noise and the batting will help filter the air as well.

    I modified my Maxi-jet pump to have a direct air intake, instead of using the venturi kit. It cut down the noise only a little bit, but it has increased the efficiency of the skimmer a lot. I'll take a picture of it and show you what I did. Personally, the sounds isn't too bad, it helps me sleep actually. I also have it under my stand in my refugium.

    OMG thank you, that is exactly where the noise is coming from, Im going to modify this right now! Thank you so much!! :)

    UPDATE: That worked GREAT!! and it was so cheap...LOL

    Was poking around on here as usual and saw this...I have the bio bale in my bak pak (came with it) should I take it out or leave it in? It is a reef tank.

    take it out, and replace it with some rubble live rock :)
