I have been looking at the different overflow boxes, and have found the CPR Overflow as it keeps a Continuous Siphon.

I wanted to see if anyone else has used this and any feedback on it. Also, how do I know how much flow I need?

    Its a 75g tank with a 30g sump.

Any help would be great :)

    Thanks!

Depends on what you are keeping...& do you mean DT water-flow or water turnover(as in how much water is being cycled, from tank, to sump, & back)?

For now its going to be a FOWLR, but later on, I'm going to convert to a reef. And I would like to keep SPS, LPS. No Seahorses or anything.

And I'm not 100% sure about which waterflow. I'm just looking at the CPR Overflow, and some are rated with a flow rate of 600GPH and other 1000GPH

So that is where I am confused.

Anyone know which CPR Overflow I should get?

One that is rated for 800GPH Flowrate, or 1200GPH Flowrate?

i have a 55 gal DT + ~15 gal sump/fuge and i'm using the 600GPH. LPS and softies are doing great in my tank (and by doing great i also mean visible growth). can't tell you about SPS though, i just recently added a purple and orange montipora and acropora.

Do you have a return pump yet? If not the 800gph should be fine. I have a 500ghp model on my 75g and it works great and I have descent flow.

I have always heard the u-tube style overflows (Eshopps are supposed to be great) work better than the weir style. I have never used ether so this is just what I've heard from reading other comments. From what I understand the u-tubes hold a better syphon without the need of an aqualifter pump, which could fail and cause a flood.
Why not just drill the tank? That's probably the safest route to go IMO.

Well I would need to drill the bottom of the tank right? The tank I have is tempered at the bottom

Yea, most are tempered on the bottom but not he sides. You could drill the back side. Many people do. Do some research on the "bean animal" design. I think I'm going that route with my 75 I'm building. I've read a ton about the design and have yet to hear anything negative. Supposed to have tons of flow and be dead silent, and pretty much completely fail proof. Do a thread search on here, I'm sure there's some info on it.
