I am happy to announce that CPR's First A.I.D. ingenious acclimation device is now shipping. I thought it was the sleeper hit of the most recent MACNA show. Check out the official pics and details below along with info on their new 'Sock-it' filter sock setup.

CPR Aquatic ships new products, First A.I.D. and Sock-It

Arcata, CA, February 14, 2011 - CPR Aquatic, Inc., a leading manufacturer of marine aquarium equipment, is pleased to announce the release of two new products, First A.I.D. and Sock-It. First A.I.D. is an innovative acclimation device with muliple uses and capabilities. Using a simple design, First A.I.D. is the easiest way to safely and properly acclimate livestock to a new aquarium. By properly acclimating livestock, fish and coral have a dramatically better chance for a healthy transition and quick assimilation to their new environment. First A.I.D.'s primary uses include:

    • Acclimation- safe acclimation for fish and coral
    • Isolation- simple isolation system for social acclimation and separation
    • Dosing- gravity driven dosing device for liquid supplements

First A.I.D. also serves as a useful system for preventative or reactive care dips including a means for dilution and run out. Among other functions such as a brine shrimp hatchery, First A.I.D. is also an ideal place to allow soft or hard corals to heal undisturbed after fragmenting, and is a safe refuge from other inhabitants.

CPR's other new product, Sock-It, is the simplest and most effective way to add mechanical filtration to any sump system. Mechanical filtration helps remove particles in the water column for a clearer view of the aquarium and also helps keep filters clean from debris. By removing waste prior to decomposition, the aquarium's water quality also remains cleaner and healthier for its inhabitants.

Sock-It attaches to regular vertical wall and euro-braced sumps and can attach to any vertical rim less than 1.25" wide or to any horizontal brace less than 0.50" thick. It features an extending inlet pipe to reduce noise and splashing, which accepts standard 1" fittings, pipe and hose for easy attachment to the overflow plumbing. Sock-It comes in 3 models that accept standard 4" and 7" ring-top filter bags available with 100, 200 and 300 micron porosity. The Sock-It 72 model includes 2 inlets for dual overflow installation while the Sock-It 4 and the Sock-It 71 only includes one inlet.

Both First A.I.D. and Sock-It are available immediately from dealers nationwide.
