    i noticed a little bleaching on my sps and looking closer saw a small crab living in it. could the crab be eating the sps?im pretty sure hes a "bad" crab as he has two pointy claws

    What type of sps is it? could just be an acropora crab

    I had my emerald rip of some tips to a green slimer acro a few days ago.

    I firmly understand the philosophy of "better to be safe than sorry"

    for future if you find a crab in SPS colonies - remove to a tub, take and post an image and get a postive ID

    I have 2 SPS colonies with white, albeit pointy clawed crabs in them ( you barely see the crab but you can spot the claws moving over the coral branches)
    one is a yellow acro the other is a purple milli

    I do not believe its coincedence that these 2 SPS corals are 2 of the nicest ones in my tank , the crabs are constantly cleaning anything that settles on them and are excellent at protecting the coral from other would be predators
