Crab ID?

So to my surprise, I am inspecting the little guy and low an behold.....

 

HE IS A SHE!!!! WITH TONS OF EGGS!!!! Guess I got her out just in time....but it begs the question......

how did she get that way????


NOW I know how she got that way, but how long did it take? Must I have another male crab in the sump as well? does it have to be in the sump or are do they spawn in the water column and I have one in the main tank?? Does anyone know? Do I need to worry???

Hello Birdlady, I have the same crab in my tank that lives in one of my Figi rock's. I saw him one night grab a piece of rock with that black claw and sqeeze it until it looked like smoke was rising up through the water.
I put up a post about it about 3 month's ago.

I like the pick of the crab next to the dime it reminds me of a pic I took last year check out this pic of my rock next to my dime....this in no figi rock.

 

I remeber that post.....I have it in a cup right now....I just can't kill it!!!! :-/
I will take it to the fish store and let them feed something with it...i guess...

OUCH that is some stone!!!!!!!
