Crab Identification ?

OK,
So are the claws flattened on the ends or pointy.
What colour are the eyes?

I have a Purple Mathix crab that was huge, it currently hitched a ride to a friend tank on a zoo rock he is holding for me. (I don't think he is too impressed)
It did no harm to the rest of the inhabitants of the tank.

But it had flat claws and didn't have red eyes.

I would say that the claws are pointy, and eyes are the same color as his body. His legs are kind fo spiney like an emerald and the very tips of his legs are yellow.

Personally I would get it out of the tank. Most crabs start off too small to kill and eat anything besides Algae/Detritus but once they get bigger they will seek out opportunities . and the Opportunities may just be something you want to keep alive

Pointy claws mean it's an "agressive" eater ... it will eat anything it can catch.

 

I agree with Jason..it would be wise to remove them!!

I've got him in my quar tank until I get my refug done. He never comes out even late at night. Just when I feed him he sticks his claws out to take food from my hands.
