crabs and tangs

i had a tang in my tank with 2 green emereld crabs and when i woke up in the morning i found my tangs fin and tail was bit. now i am scared to get another tang. can some one tell me why this happend and how i can prevent this

What color are the emeralds? If they are other than green then there are the culprits. I bought some and they were red and white and had a ribbon eel in my tank and they pretty much sent him to eel heaven.

emerald crabs with eat a sleeping fish if they get hungry enough. They'd eat YOU too. Feed them something other than tangs lol

i really would like to get shrimp, crabs and lobster how can i prevent them from eating me tangs and other fish i really dont want them eating my more expensive fish and i certainly dont want them my dwarf angles and angels

 

target feed the invertebrates so that they dont get hungry

 

are we sure the tang hurt it's fins from the emeralds? and not say a powerhead?

most fish are or become smart enough to stay away from crustaceans like that.

meaty bits. mysis is a fan favorite but i would use small chunks of squid rather than fish. I don't know, in my head if you feed something fish it will eat fish. (Not a scientific fact by any means)
