I finally got these crabs out of my tank inluding an emerald crab that was eating Zoanthids. If you have these get the out. I had to kill the big one:uzi: after he clipped a few pink Zoanthids for dinner.

I though the big one got away but i saw the cleaner shrimp snacking on him ;D The emerald is now in the sump.

Should have sent them my way. I could have fed them to my mantis shrimp. :) He made short work of the hitch hiker crab that had killed several green chromis.

I have one I need to get out of my tank also. I had a nice rock of zoa's growing, now they are gone. I just saw the crab for the first time the other day. Did you set a trap or just fish them out. The crab in my tank disappears into the rock work.

This is what i did. I took a piece of base rock like the one in the picture below. I placed Zoanthids on it. I knew that they were gona come for it. Once the crab was on the coral. I quickly removed the rock while the crab went hiding in the rock. Tap the rock in a plastic container, put the base rock or live rock back in the tank.

Its good to place the coral on a rock that has holes so the crab can hide while you take the rock out. You can get any crab out this way. You can use food aswell, as long as it sticks to the rock.

The sucess rate with that method has been 100% so far. It makes the crab think that it has escaped :biglaugh:

This worked really well at night with moon lights.
