I have a bunch of hermit crabs and snails to control algae , but I don't want to add more hermits because they'll start killing each other and I just don't like snails that much. I do however, like conventional crabs. Are there any crabs that anyone would recommend and are reef safe and will not eat fish?

Honestly, I don't trust crabs at all around a reef. Some have them, some don't. I have one medium sized HC and five small (blue leg) HC. I am watching them and at the first sign of trouble, I am yanking them out. My mainstay ITO cleaners are going to be snails.

I've had emerald crabs, porcelain crabs(anenome crab) and have pom pom crabs now... Never had a problem with a porcelain crab.. Don't trust emeralds and haven't had my pom pom crabs long enough to say...

Emerald crabs are little, eat algea, and are reef safe. They are also this awesome color of green:)
