It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    It looks well under control.

I would say the battle is won as long as the urchin keeps mowing on.

    Insidious stuff boy.

An Abalone worked well for me, but they mow everything down and get big fast.

I dont see why a little bit would look bad?

I want to get some nicer macros for the display tank, like Red Rhodaphyta or Blue Dictyota or Blue Plocamium.

I would love to do a kelp style forest planted reef at some stage. Or a shallow mangrove style planted reef with some of those cool rock work features that extends out of the water.

I think people under estimate how good some macro can look in your DT.

    Matt,

Is "going dental" anything like "getting medieval"? LOL

You just happen to have two of the fastest growing Caulerpa spp. in your tank (C. racemosa and C. taxifolia). At this point, your best bet is to keep it plucked as you see it emerge.

If you live anywhere near the ocean, be sure to freeze whatever you pluck off overnight before you toss it, as this is the only sure easy way to kill the stuff.

OTOH, if you don't keep a reef tank, live macro is awesome stuff for nutrient export, harboring pods, and looks nice too. We use it in most of our setups.

    That is catchy! :)

One in the same my friend. Of course I am thinking of Steve Martin in Little Shop of Horrors.

I actually live about 1/2 mile from San Francisco Bay! I freeze all greenery I pull from my tank or prune from my fuge for a day or two before I throw it out.

You have the exact same 2 types of Caulerpa that I'm fighting right now :p It looks like you have it under control, though. I hope my Pincushion does as good as your tuxedo.
