    I like the macro algea but have noticed in the store that if it is free floating some fish won't eat it but when it get s tangled or I wedge it in the come right to the dinner table. Another thing is mix alittle garlic in your prepared food as it is a appitite stimulant I like garlic gard from sea chem.

    Wild caught Achilles tang as opposed to what, a captive bred one?

    I fully agree with Phil and Craig, get some macro aglea (graciliaria works great as does caulerpa racemosa (aka grape or bubble caulerpa)). I too find that securing the algae is the best way to go. If I throw a hunk into the tank, a few will take interest, but if its secure, they attack it with gusto. I grow hair aglea rocks to throw into the tanks sometimes. I just throw some small rocks into a 5g bucket with an airstone and a heater, add water from a water change and leave it in a sunny location inside. Every once in a while, I throw in some flake food to increase the nutrients.

    Thanks all. He must be eating something. He is still doing good. I have hatched some brineshrimp that Im gonna add today. My other fish are so aggressive and Im thinking that is why he is swimming away from the food.The ydont pick on him but I think he gets scared.Thanks

    Matt? what is in the formula 2. I have formula 1. which has shrimp krill, spinach,clams krill,sardine,plankton,salmon,squid,and kelp. are they about the same??m going shopping tomorrow I will look for formula 2

    He is picking at the sand quite a bit today.hmmmmm I think I got a mandarin in disguise.It was a no go with the brine shrimp and still a no go with dried seaweed on a clip.?????? hmmmmmmmmm

    you know my tang picks at the sand alot too. dont know why for sure i assume he's eating something

    I believe detris is part of their diet as I recall.

    They also pick up sand to aid in digestion.
