    $$$ ?

How much should i expect to pay to drill 2 holes in glass. If it's less thank $100 i'd say packleader has a solid answer to my concerns. Then it's just a question of what to use to bulkhead the holes i'm not using.

I just learned somthing new today. The LFS said bigger tanks do not need water changes as often because with more water build up takes longer. They told me once every 2 weeks would be sufficiant and once a month after the tanks been going with live rock for a year or so. Does anyone know different?

Drilling tanks isn't too expensive usually. I will ask my guy at the glass shop what it would normally cost. Off the top of my head I would say $10-$20 bucks a hole? Maybe even less?

The water changes would more depend on the actual system. There are plenty of small tanks that don't do any water changes at all ;) My normal schedule is every 2 weeks or so on my 40, but I have gone a month before. And that's mostly for the trace elements.

As far as sump goes underneath it depends on what you wanna do with the tank. I have a 150 and I put a 40g sump/fuge under mine. I would have gone bigger but I wanted to have extra room for a chiller and auto top off res too. Also the only way I could fit a 55 or 75 or bigger sump would be to cut a hole in the side and slide it in. So most people say the biggest that you can fit. I agree. I did have a seperate sump and fuge and went to one unit and I like it better...

I would use the two middle holes in the bottom as part of a closed loop system. Get rid of the center overflows. See if the glass is tempered and drill more holes in the back and the corner, put in a corner overflow box and set up a closed loop on that tank. For that price, I think you did well.
