Why is it every time I see someone on craigs list getting out of the hobby, they never want to just sell me their live stock????

I don't understand how they think the majority of people searching craigs list are looking to buy the whole set up. It does not make any sense.

Thats why you make deals. Tell them you will give them so much for what you want and that you will help them try to sell the tank for the difference or more.

Around here they want to sell the livestock then the rock then the equpment. I have scored some pretty cool things off craigslist including 150 lbs of live rock for 100 bucks and it was 5 show pieces. I also got my hippo for 20 bucks at 6 in long 2 six lines. a large yellow tang for 15 bucks..... I have got a few thigs for equpment my 40 gallon breeder for 35 for my hospital tank. 20 gallong hospital tank for 10 bucks also a qt/hospital. I got the red sea max brand new in the box with the stand for 200 and trade of a small sump. Craigslist can be good and bad.

It's an emotional reaction, they have not yet admitted to themselves that like their car, most of their setup lost half it's value when it left the store - they will eventually realize this and adjust accordingly or decide to keep it.
