Do you think two on a 90 would be enough? My canopy is only 9 inches from the water would I have to raise it up or make a new taller canopy?

2 is enough for my 72in. long 125.

I currently have my lights hanging about 8 inches off the surface water.
I removed the top of my canopy, and built a simple hanger stand that goes between my DT and the back wall, which hangs my lights, with the hangers provided with the light- at no extra charge.
The front and sides of the canopy keep the scatter- light from going into the room, etc.

Alright so if I do go with these instead I would have to extend my canopy a few inches, thanks! Also, it's time for a few DT update video!

I don't know about your canopy, but you can remove it, or make a way to hang the lights by the hangers, etc. If you mean my DT tank vid, yes, that vid was with my Power compact lights!, not the LED's.

The lady who lives with me said it would look terrible without the canopy so I'm unfortunately bound to having one. I like the rimless/hanging light look but since my current 90 isn't it makes it look silly.

Offered the guy a 100 dollars and I would buy some other stuff off him, he refused. Oh well guess I'll keep looking into these LEDs, might even get some soon. Mostly just worried about longevity.

There are threads, mostly on RC, that I believe people have been using them for a few years with no problem.

They are bright, and the blues, when by themselves, is REALLY BLUE, I mean REALLY.

The blue does bring out nice colors though, whether by themselves, or with the whites added.

What sole me was in 1 to 2 years, bulb replacement costs on other lights would quickly exceed the cost of the lights.

Not having to by replacement bulbs for 12 to 15 years? Priceless

I've been looking into Kessil LEDs the past few months and today I decided to send them a message and ask them to tell me why they're better than that chinese brand on Ebay. They actually made a status about me haha

    "It is almost time!!

In the middle of our exciting product launch event, someone sent in a question and asked: “Why should I buy a Kessil instead of an eBay LED aquarium light?”

If the need is only for an ordinary LED aquarium illuminator, then there is probably no reason to consider Kessil.

Those who had a “Wow” moment with Kessil, would you care to share your reasons choosing Kessil?

(Like great spectral colors, outstanding coral growth, fantastic shimmer, compact in size, good design, strong US support, fun Kessil user group…. Did we say too much?)"

'great spectral colors, outstanding coral growth, fantastic shimmer, compact in size, good design,'

I've got all that with my Chinese LED's!

No product is for everyone. There are at least 2 threads on these here on 3Reef, and several others over on RC.

The choice is yours. If I did it again, I'd get the dimmable version, for a bit more. I'm still real happy with mine, 'cause my DT is too.l
