crashed without airbag

    can someone please explain to me what it means if your system crashes,and do have to start completely over.

    Basically when somone says their system has crashed it means for example. If you are away for a 3 day weekend and the power dies. Everything in the tank is dead and the levels are off the charts. Another example is...lets say u dump a whole bunch of clorine or iodine into the tank. Usually its a good idea so start over somewhat....old sand and rock can be reused but probably needs to be rinsed out.

    Haha, never heard that among reefers. To describe a "system crash" on a reef, I usually just refer it as a nuke. Since everything dies in the unfortunate occurence (i.e. power failure, back syphon and water loss, overheating, etc.)
