Well my evening lights turned off and I saw a small object pop out of the water. I grabbed my flashlight and searched the floor and behind the tank. Nothing, then my girlfriend starts laughing and points to the sump. Down in the sump is a firefish frantically swimming around the equipment. Took me a while to net that little bugger and when I did he was back in the DT. Don't know how the hell he got in my sump, its directly under my DT and is in a stand. Must have either bounced off the wall and into the sump or into the overflow box and into my sump sock then jumped out of that. Crazy little fish, our tanks really always keep us on our toes, theres never a dull moment.;D

I had a wrasse jump out onto the floor unnoticed by me, I happened to walk by and saw the cat playing with something, it was a drying and hardening fish, I picked it up and tossed in the display, sank head first to the bottom then woke up and swam away fine, don't know how long he was laying there

Lucky bounce for the firefish, look into clear netting to prevent it jumping.

I heard someone say that egg crate works well. I don't have any jumping fish.

I have a firefish that (fortunately) hasn't tried any acrobatics (yet). A fellow tank inhabitant, peppermint shrimp, does keep navigating into the back part of the cube where the filtration is located. Have to keep rescuing her from the middle top chamber right above the bioballs.

Interestingly, or ironically, enough I just went downstairs and looked for our shrimp...only to find that once again she has gone adventuring.

Unless your fish are small enough to fit through it, like a firefish for instance.
