Crazy Moray Eel video

I ran across this on youtube. Crazy. This guy is cuddling with a huge moray eel.

There's also videos of Green Morays biting off a dude's thumb.

 

Ouch been bitten twice.Not fun.

 

I'd use "tolerant" instead of "tender".

 

Eels just need to know you respect them.

 

just because you said it I had to go look for it.. man that must have hurt like hell and he seemed under control from what you could see.

Amazing they put his toe where his thumb used to be..

 

Eels have very poor eye site. Bites are usually the result of mistaken identity, the eel thought it was food and it was a hand.

I have literally had them chase me down while diving thinking they were going to be fed. I am talking huge Morays too.

In my opinion it's fool hardy to think a Moray is cuddling. I have seen some nasty scars and infections from bites.

 

I'm going to have to find that video. Crazy, they moved his toe to his hand?

If you must there is a big Moray @ Sting Ray City, Grand Caymen that is soft and fluffy. I'll see if I can find an image of him/her.

 

Here the Moray is, not my images. I actually did feed this one, he was gentle compared to the Sting rays that rolled you around on the bottom to get your squid.
