    Thank you

And thank you too. I have added a few astreas snails (however its spelled) and am awaiting the day to put in an order through reefcleaners for a clean up crew. Tank stays very clean for me so far, I use only RODI water, i run rowaphos and carbon in my reactor. Between all that there is very minimal diatom in the tank, most resides in my fuge. Probably due to the cheap light im using over it.
I do plan to add more base rock in the future as well, but for now i'm just letting it continue to cycle with my three little chromis

Well its been a while since i've updated this thread, but to me its more like a living journal. I've had the tank running empty for quire some time. Had a few chromis, but they decited to explore the overflow box and never made it out alive :( ...Anyways a good friend of mine fraged his tank out and so i recently aquired an assortment of corals and a few fish. He has been very generous with his frags and i take great pride finally getting to enjoy this tank.
With the help from my 6yr old son Tanner we put together a short video of the tank with a small shot of the sump. The clown has made a section of the tank his home so if you see particles floating around its the aftermath of the tremendous sand storm he creates every so often..... Enjoy :)

Hey buddy, awesome video, you certainly got a lot of flow going on in there!

My next project is starting to come together, aquired a drilled 180G tank last weekend for $125 along with a pair of Iwaki MD-100RLT pumps for $25 each.
I'm still looking at using the Bean Animal style overflow but to be honest with both back corners already drilled with overflow and return holes i'm tempted to just use them.

anyway, it will likely be febuary before I can actually set it all up so I have time to figure it out :)

Nice score Telgar !!! good to hear from you too its been awhile. Definately if the corners are already drilled then go for it especially if you can incorporate a durso style in that system to keep is quiet. The bean animal has been working extremely well. If i could do it over again i would have eliminated the manifold and run 3 individual pipes to the sump. At times i feel like it traps air and takes a few more seconds for the emergency syphon to start. I'm not concerned about it too much though as my return does not provide a large flow rate so it handles it no prob. Once its primed and running it can handle a ton more return flow rate no problem. Also i learned that the water height in the tank with freshwater is lower than with saltwater due to the height of the over flow box, so with that in mind i need to trim down the top of the over flow box to lower the water level by a little but luckily no niagara falls in the living room yet ;)
All in all in really excited with project so far .
