    You might find this link interesting. It will help explain what we have recently began to understand that saltwater fish can easily adapt to lower salinities. I have long held that reef fish are not stressed by a salinity that is about 40% as salty as today's NSW. There is also more scientific evidence that the oceans were much less salty in the past than they are today.
