I have a huge problem with coraline algae, and scraping it is getting to be a pain. Wouldn't getting a creature to graze on it 24/7 be a better solution?

I've read that pencil urchins will eat it, but I don't know whether they can move across the glass like a snail can. Are there any inverts that do the job?

I have a pink urchin that loves it. Most urchins have evolved to be able to eat it. You could try a rose urchin or I have heard good things about Blue Tuxedo Urchins.

have you tried using mag float algae remover. this thing can remove your coraline off your glass without even using the blade that can attach to it. i use it to remove this algae on my glass always. emerald crabs eats coraline algae from your rocks as well.

I have two tuxedo (Multicolored) urchin and they keep my tank clear of almost ALL algae. Awesome creatures, but very clumsy and knock over corals that arent quite attached.

I have a long spined sea urchin, he goes along the rock and glass and strips it bare, he's got a appetite for the pink stuff...
