Hi all!! First post so I am super excited I've been up late starring into my fishtank when I noticed about 3 or 4 of these guys stuck on the walls. They dont move too much, besides the little tentacles coming out of them. Very curious and couldn't find an answer online hoping someone has a match to my mystery creatures! Haha Thanks guys!

That's your typical hydroid jelly. Mostly harmless, fairly common in newly established tanks, but also short-lived in aquaria.

    You're quite welcome. :)

If you used live sand and/or rock, you'll see a lot of critters appear out of nowhere. lol. Most can be beneficial, but only a few will survive.

    Welcome to 3Reef, btw.

Mr. Bill nailed it...hydroids. They can be a danger to fry and small fish (such as dwarf SH), but are generally not an issue. They appear in response to a bloom of small live prey items, such as copepods, and will disappear or die back when the food is no longer available.

Here's a link to our pictorial hitchhiker ID guide...just scroll down till you find your critter and read about it. There are sections for both motile and sessile critters.
