Creepy? Snail?

    ok I just spotted this guy for the first time minutes ago. looked creepy at first. I am starting to think it is a snail without its' shell as it is sucking the rock. Not sure though.

    It probably is a snail, but I doubt it's missing its shell. Those little fuzzy things are probably papillae on the mantle, which covers the shell in many species. I can't see enough detail in the pics to give you much of a guess, though. Catch it next time you see it and take its pic in a dish of water.

    It looks kind of like what I have in one of my tanks, they multiply like crazy but so far I haven't seen them harm anything.

    It looks like a stomatella snail, a great addition to your algae clean up crew.

    I just found another smaller one. You might be right. Must have been some eggs in the water from one of the fish acquisitions or in live rock.

    If you see three you probably have a more. You will see more if you look at the tank after the lights have been off about an hour. 8)
