    why is every one saying his dkh is too high? there are guys here that run almost a 5 . at 3.5 that's only about a 10 dkh which is in an acceptable range.

    It doesn't help with nitrates, im not exactly sure about ammonia, but carbon is one of the best things that you can do to help your aquarium. It will take out lots of organic compounds, help to keep your water quality high and make the water crystal clear.

    good point. i am sure the 3.5 is in meq/l, for the alk reading. not dkh.

    I think his dkh is fine.. I think his balls may be dirty though... Carbon sometimes can also absorb your corals chemical warfare and other bad stuff. If bad stuff happened after you removed the carbon, put it back in, by all means!
