Crocea Clam just got some mysis on it and I waved it off. Now its not opening fully.

I accidently got some mysis on my clam and I didn't know if that was ok or bad or what so I waved my hand hard at it so that it would fall off. Now it isn't fully opening!!!

I know I probably stresed it but in the future what should I do if mysis falls on the clam?

 

it shouldnt hurt the clam claic. if it ingests it, it will expel it too. and it will open back up. no worries.

 

Thanks, after hurting its foot I am very protective over it now! lol

Its not responding to me putting my hand over it its staying sligtly open but not changing. Is this normal?

 

i forgot , this is the clam that had its foot injured? with all its been through, hopefully its just because of the stress its been through recently. before the mysis dropped on it, it responded quickly?

i really cant see how mysis would do it any harm. so guess you will just have to wait it out again.

 

He would have blown the mysis shrimp off himself.

 

Stop messing with the clam. They can blow substrate off themselves so mysis is no problem. Just let it relax and all will be well.
