Steve Irwin was the type of man that you didn't need to talk to him to know that he was a great guy. So full of spunk and energy! He was a good sport.

He was a nut but he did do a lot for environmental issues and was big on saving natural habitat. I watched his show from time to time to see what he was catching. To bad hes gone he could have done a lot more good for animals and the environment if he was around longer.

I have a feeling that because his sons are 3 and 1 1/2 his wife will not lead the same life...if she did and the same happened to her...that would be bad for the children.

I am still in shock over this event....I would never think that he would go this way...This is a sad day indeed

I was really upset when I heard this yesterday. What are the odds that the stingray barb wouldn't hit a rib or the breast bone? This is terrible... and a big loss. I raised a glass to him last night. :-[

i raised several glasses to his memory last night. i am a huge fan of everything he stood for. i hope the family is well and i can only imagine how much this hurt everyone.

i am still not really over it, its like loosing a family member that i never met in person or didnt even know i exist but the loss is stilll very painful and i have my doubts anyone will be able to fill it.

first Bindy looses the ancient tortoise now her father...it hasnt been a good year for them.

I know exactly how you feel. It seems almost unreal that this could have happened. I am still having trouble believing it. It is almost like a big part of our lives was yanked out from under us. Funny how he and his family became just as much a part of our lives as those we see in person.

It's amazing how we as humans can really care about a person without really knowing them personally. It's one of the most unique things about us.
