Thanks. As for now I'm putting the "mood lighting" on hold. I'm looking into a diy led build for this tank to match the lighting effects that I have on my 40B. If that plan goes forward I'll be sure to post pics of everything here.

Man that sucks. Mine arrived in perfect condition. I should've noted that mine has the same blue and green reverse thing going on. I could fix it but I'm too lazy and it works just fine the way it is. I also ordered another strip and controller off ebay that shipped from hong kong and it arrived in good condition too. It's the same controller but a different strip and it works the way it's supposed to. I put it inside of a rice paper lamp and it makes an awesome mood light. I picked up a third controller off ebay just because it was 8 bucks shipped. I couldnt be happier with the controllers for how cheap they are, I bought 3 of them from 3 different places and they are all the same. The possibilities are endless with these things lying around the house lol.

This afternoon my b/w clowns were hanging out together. When I got home after training this evening there was only one. They seemed to spat more when the lights started going out. The actinics were on when I noticed that only one clown was swimming around. My only guess is that one made the other jump. No evidence as the cat would have gotten it pretty quick, but that's about the only thing I can think of.

Sigh....having a tank is great at times and just plain depressing at times.

So what do yall think about this.

    30" Current Sundial 4x24w T5 Reef Tank/Aquarium Light Fixture

It seems like a pretty good of a deal to me. The 3 boostled par30's just aren't cutting it and I'm really interested testing out the difference between t5's and led's.

    All thoughts and comments welcome.

    TIA

That should do great for your tank. I would replace the bulbs with top of line bulbs like ATI, KZ, UVL or Geisemann. You will get the best out of the unit then.

I picked up the fixture today. It provides nice full coverage just like I've been looking for. It has 2 ATI Blue+ and an ATI atinic that are only few months old according to the seller. The 4th bulb is just some generic white bulb, no label.

I was thinking of this combo (front to back):
    ATI Blue +
    ATI Aqua Blue Special
    ATI Purple +
    ATI Blue +

I'm looking for crisp colors ("coral pop") with a nice blue hue to the overall tank.

I've been trying to determine just how much of a difference there is between the Fiji Purple and the Purple +. Everything I've searched leads me to believe they are pretty close.

Well it's been a little bit since I've been on here, but school and training have me extremely busy.

My 20L project has been through a lot over the past month or so. I got some tiny flatworms that I just couldn't seem to get rid of. I ended up ordeingr a second bottle of FW exit and moved all my LR to a 10g and treated the rock over a 3 day period. I then removed all the sand from the 20L as it was full of the $&%^*& things. The LR treatment worked great and the tank is now running bare bottom. I painted the bottom glass black and I REALLY like the look. It still has a bit of sand that was trapped in the LR, but I'll be able to get that out when I do a water change. Overall the tank is doing great, other than the fact I had to move all the coral to my 40B and had a few snail deaths do to FW exit.

I've also gone to a 4x24 T5 setup on the tank and really like it. The coralline algae is growing like crazy. Much more so in the 20L compared to the 40B with a BoostLED Mu 135.

and now what you've all been waiting for:

I tried to scape it as close to the original setup as possible. I like this a little better as the rock is more stable and I have more room for corals. ;D

The tank isn't that blue in person, it's much more white. I took the pics with my phone...
