Sorry to hear about the cardinal. I know that they do best in pairs. I recently bought a pair and the female only eats after she sees the male eat.

I really like the way the tank looks. That scape looks awesome and also somehow familiar. ;)

Sorry about the cardinal my man. Jumpers suck.. I've definitely been there. But hey, it happens. Things happen, and fish die. Nothing you can do but move on a get yourself a new one..!

I can't say for sure that the fish didn't jump, but I've done a lot of searching and cannot find one instance where a Benggai Cardinal was proven to have jumped from an aquarium. Obviously that doesn't mean none have ever jumped, and the cat could have got it without it jumping as well. My pair comes to the top when its feeding time so perhaps the cat jumped up on the tank, and when the cardinal came up to eat...

Just one explanation, one that doesn't help you much.

It would be very hard for the cat to get at the tank without going for a swim, and I would have noticed that for sure. ;) I'll look around for another day or so, but I'm thinking he's gone. We can't always watch out tanks so who knows what happened. I've got a ton of hermits so if he just happened to die they would have gotten to him quick as well.

Oh and I went and looked at your tank...nice scape. LOL, it does look a little familiar.

Yeah I know fish don't always make it but it still sucks. Not really sure he jumped or what. Looks like next fish I get will be a bottom dweller for sure though. Thinking a YWG is in my future.

10% water change this morning, still no sign of the cardinal. Cleaned all the hob and replaced carbon. Tested all levels and everything was within parameters. Off to a new LFS today, Coral Corral.

Props to ReefBruh for letting me know about Coral Corral. Place is awesome. Got several frags today for a decent price. I'll get some pics up after everything has gotten well adjusted to the tank. I'll say this much though... ORA plugs are CRAP, way too big.

Oh and Sticksmith23....I got a surprise for you hehehehe
