Well I've moved and gotten all settled in so now it's time to get the ole tank back up and running. Here are just a few snapshots of the build in progress. I've also ordered an rodi unit some bulkheads and a hole saw from BRS. The old setup didn't have a sump or fuge so I plan drilling the tank and doing a diy 20 gallon sump/fuge. Thid is gonna be a slow build as I try to get everything righy the first go round.

Good craftsmanship on the stand. Looks real good. Doing it right the first time is always a good idea.
I've always had that intention but its never good enough for me.
Looks good and sounds like you have a plan.
Congrats on getting it set up.

Welcome back Coastie, I was wondering what had happened to some of the other 40 breeder people awhile back.. Glad to see the tanks coming back. I'd do the same thing with my tank if I restarted (add a sump). Have you thought about just buying a HOB overflow? I've always thought that would be the easiest way if I ever decide to go ahead and add a sump, especially if you're into building things yourself.

Been a slower journey than I expected but things are coming along. I need to build some doors and do some trim work still, but I hope to have the stand finished and painted this week. Tank should be plumbed and wet next week. Can't wait.

+1 Great work. Am I seeing this correctly? Is the fuge going on top of the main stand and then the tank is going on top of that? Is that the frame for the fuge?

Matt that's the stand with the canopy on top. I simple need to make doors. The sump is going on the shelf below the mt like normal. Going to be extremely close to my old stand.
