Nope, Euroreef and GSM needle wheel skimmers always come with the pump due to having to customize the impellar shaft into a needle wheel. Thats one of the nice things about them IMO. Pump included.

The AquaC is a injection skimmer, not a downdraft (ETSS, etc) ;) .

    Thanks Gresh...

I was just saying downdrafts are too big, and the added expense of a pump is added in to the cost of the ER and the ASM's., while I can get the Aqua C without a pump so I could save a little bit. I have plentyof pumps.....sadly.

But, Shawn from Salty Critter is measuring the ASM for me. I only have a 5.5 inch by 12 inch space in my sump. The ASM says it is 8.5 by 11 inch footprint...... :p Too big. I dont' thing you can run either the ER or the ASM as a hang on...can you? Just in=line or in= sump right? There is my dilemna.

So, double checking sizes to see what else might fit, per your recommendation!

    ;) ;D Thank You!

Well to my dismay looks can be decieving and the size is correct. So it looks like it will be too big. :(

Thanks anyways Shawn. Those cannot be run as hang-ons , can they?

Any other suggestions? Or does it look like the AquaC?

I would have to say the AquaC would be the best bet. Though for the tank size/price I would personally consider the Remora/Urchin line again. The Pro's could definately handle that tank with ease and the standard models could handle it too in my opinion as long as it was not over stocked.

I am reading on some posts that while people rave about the remoras and urchins, there is no such enthusiasm for the larger units....do the small ones perform better?

I am also trying to keep in mind if we ever upgrade the tank, I would be able to keep the skimmer...
    Thanks Again!!!

Birdlady what about just picking up a used Berlin on Ebay? :-/ it would be cheaper and you would know for sure that it would fit. ;) You did seem happy with it................. John

Yeah, I know...I could do that. I have been reading about how much more efficient the newer types of skimmers are eg...needle wheels and spray injections, and becketts , etc.
Thought I might give it a shot.

Have not totally decided yet, tho.

    Thanks! ;D
