Crushed Coral/live Sand

    Hi i am starting up my tank soon and was wondering a cpl things, for a 4" SB will 40lbs of crushed coral and 40LBS of live sand be enough for this depth, and i have florida crushed coral should this go on the bottom and the live sand placed on top of that?? can anyone recommend a good live sand and where to buy some online?? THANKS

    haha that was my next q crushed coral can scratch your fish up pretty bad, especially bottom dwellers, but if your set on it i think you might need a bit more

    IMO I would go with all sand, if you want to have a very broad array of livestock in your tank that is. Sand won't bother near as many things as CC will. If you like the look of CC better, go with it, just research before every livestock purchase, as you should anyways!!!!

    Even tho this aragonite is very fine huh i should still go with just live sand??

    I think I used Caribsea live sand. This is my opinion to use no CC, you can do what you want, I just know the larger particles can harm certain livestock. It was an easy decision for me because I love the look of all sand. What are some of the specs on your tank (what you are doing... plan to do... etc.)? Just out of curiosity.
