if you add sand to crushed coral it wont take long befor all sand moves to bottom and the CC will all sit on top.

Thats what has happened. If i take out most of the coral and add l/s slowly first is it possible......and would new live sand start a new mini cycle?

You have to add twice the depth of the crushed coral to cover it.

If your tank already has live rock in it then it is likely that the sand has already 'cycled' and won't go through much of a cycle, the addition of live sand will probably add more life to it. How long has the tank been set up for? Is there live rock or sand in it already?

See the thing is there is rock in there and sand im sure its live but i really dont know what the guy did to it. What if he bleached the rock. He said he had the tank for three years. Fish in there when he had it were four large fish. I have been vacuuming up the rock as much as i think the fish can stand(gets really cloudy when i do it) but im thinking im gonna start vacuuming up as much of anything i can sand and all. I want more sand than anything. I know iwas told not to add l/s to an established tank. I appreciate the help!! p.s. I have had the tank for almost a month now.
