That video will have very limited value since BRS does not use capillary tube flow restrictors you trim for an exact waste ratio. Thats probably the most confusing part. Other than that you hook it up, flush a few gallons down the drain and make water while paying attention to the TDS meters to monitor conditions.

If you are looking for instant results my suggestion would be to call a plumber...

If you are willing to take some time and learn may I suggest:

First, RODI water will not be an instantaneous fix-all for whatever issues you may be having in your tank. This expectation will lead only to disappointment. Getting it hooked up RIGHT NOW is not as important as understanding how the unit functions.

Second, read the manual several times. Read for understanding. Any "big words" you can ask here or look up on the Internet, at dictionary.com or wikipedia, for example.

Finally, ask specific questions about specific elements of the manual that you don't understand. General questions get you general answers, specific questions get you specific answers. "How do I hook this up" is a general question...

alright then you guys are smart right? (i assume). anyway, can you just explain to me the membrane, waste to product water ratio, and the flow restrictor? Also, when should I replace the membrane, DI cartridge, and how pressure affects the water?

well ratio 4 to 1 is the about of bad water to good. so if you want to make a gallon of good water, the system will make four gallons of wast water.

also its good to know their is somone else here thats 14. i though i was talking to old dudes all this time lol hahahhaha::)
their relly easy to understand, you just have to do your reading.

I have the same filter...connect it to a faucet let it run for a while to flush the system like it says, then start collecting water. Not very difficult IMO, mine had a 4:1 ration right out of the gate but even if it does not you'll still be able to collect clean water but waste more whilst doing so.

Read the manual then go to the Spectrapure website and read the Education section on the right side of the page and the FAQ section along the top. Those two should explain most of what you are asking.

If you expect to get any help out of people you better tone down your threads or you will not get anyone to answer, we do this out of kindness and you are not helping any.

If you are this impatient now you will never last in the reef hobby, all good things take time, only bad things happen quickly so ride it out.
