css220 mesh modded my needle wheel

I was looking at the mods for these ok skimmers. Mine was pulling out nice but I wanted more for less (The American way). I saw the fishing line mod and thought about it then saw the mesh mod and thought about it and then it hit me how about a little of both. My wife had this net mesh from a fabric store for a project she had been working on and I swiped a piece. This is only one sheet and I was thinking about adding a second. I will keep you posted on the skimmate

 

Ok its been a few days and I have some interesting results the bubbles at the neck seemed smaller but they didn't want to float to the top of the neck into the cup very much. I had to move the water line to half way up the cup to get foam out the top. So it seemed to make it worse today I removed the netting to check and the bubbles were hitting the cap when the water line was only a half inch from the red ring. For those who have done the fishing line mod or the mesh mod did you have to move your waterline higher?
