    Hi all,
Finally gonna get my feet wet ;D. Convinced fiance we should buy a small tank for now, then when me move into out own home we'll go for a 100+ gallon one. Anyhoo, we're pretty well down to 2 choices....

    1) 24G nano cube..not the HQI one, since I can't really spend that much on it. So I'd be looking at the deluxe one.

    2) 29G bio cube.

Of the 2, which is the one to go with? I'm planning on doing mainly a reef tank, with a couple clown fish and a goby. Are both of the above tanks ready to go out of the package as far as equpiment goes? And I mean EVERYTHING?? (heater and all that good stuff too).

Thanks for the help. Too bad this hobby is not as easy as heart surgery. :hehe:

    hehe, hey.

ya that's what I figured, but then searching for all the info I can find, I came across someone saying that the 29G biocube only holds 24G of water. So that would make them the same.

Then there is also the 24G nano cube with the HQI viper light. Man, this is all overwhelming.

ok, looks like I'm going with the 29G biocube.

As far as lighting goes, are the bulbs that come with it, (1 Coralife 10,000K 36Watt Compact Fluorescent lamps, 1 Coralife Actinic 36Watt Compact Fluorescent lamps, 3 ¾Watt Lunar Blue, Moon Glow LED lights) enough to run a reef tank? Or will I have to replace them with an HQI light?

That's pretty well the only thing left to sort out. Is the light thing.

And I need a heater obviously correct? I'll probably buy the protein skimmer they have designed for the tank as well.

    thanks for help again.

sadly those are out of my budget. Basically what I'm doing is getting a small tank for now, just because I want one now. My fiance finally agreed to get one, but she likes the biocube, and it's a decent size, so that's what we're going with. As soon as we move into our house (next 12 months) we'll be investing into a 100+G tank, so this is just to ease my cravings, hehe.

ok, so I'm going for the 29G biocube. I am also getting the protein skimmer made for the setup. All this is costing me $295 shipped to my US address, then I just gotta drive across the border to pick it all up (will save me about $200 vs buying it here in Canada).

So now all I need is the heater. For the 29G, what wattage heater do I need?

    thanks.
