I got a 24"x24"x24" cube and stand off of craiglists for $200. It was slightly used but was reef ready. I thought it was good deal.

Honestly, I dont know. The thing is there is a very very minor cost diffrence in there 60 gallon and there 38 gallon. Which leads me to believe i msy be paying to much. plus the fact that since my budget is limited i cant do 2 large tanks. So I was figuring either 1 tank in between 85/100 gallon or 2 smaller tanks. maybe a 38 to 60 gallon cube and then another even smaller cube. but the damn 60's seem high to me.

    Cube Aquariums are Addicting

    Hello banthonyb71,
The price of cubes really depend on what features you want. My Uncle purchased a cube tank with a stand for 120 dollars and it was new. On the other hand, at another fish store that we visited, there was a reef tank with a stand for 900 dollars. It did have two accesories, such as a built in overflow in one corner along with a sump built inside the stand. So, the prices of cube tanks really depend. Depending on where you are located, pet stores might have different prices on cube tanks.

What exactly are the options you want? It seems like that's a huge price difference. Drilling glass is easy. You can do your own overflow for $40, and that's including the price of the bit. I say order the base model and make it a project. Do the options yourself and put that money to some nice LE corals.

PackLeader do you have any links about the DIY drilled overflow that you referenced?

    Def interested in that.

For the OP I was going to suggest the Mr.Aqua 60 rimless cube, but looked and they are like 500. after shipping. So local custom may just be a better option for you .

    Good luck.

Did you guys check out my LFS (the linkI gave) for rimless 60 galls? I believe they have them for $300 and some change but that dpends on the options. (diffrent overflow types) which I dont know the diffrence being this would be my first bout with overflow tanks.
AS far as me, I like the look of rimless but dont like the idea of fish jumping out and snails climbing out and I would hate the evaporation factor too.

Ya know if im not mistaken, I believe my LFS wont let me get the tank with the buttom that can be drilled. I believe timpered only if I dont get it with overflow built in.
