Hi everyone, Long story short, my clean up crew just showed up and it is snowing. I have no idea how long the box sat in the truck but the first bag I opened was a dead emerald crab. The temp of the water was 48 degrees. I have everybody tempature acclimating in their bags but I assume the worst. I tried to get a hold of John but his website doesn't have a phone number and I haven't received an email back yet. Do I add these guys to my tank or is it a lost cause? HELP?

I only seen like 3 signs of life in all the bags combined, out of 75+ creatures. Should I just put them all in the tank? They have been here over an hour and a half now.

Do you have your quarantine tank? The snails will sometimes take a couple of days to pop out. I would put any dead creatures in your tank. If you don't have any fish in the tank I suppose it wouldn't matter to much

QT tank is not an option right now. You think I am fine to just throw everybody in the display?

follow Johns instructions on the website and they will be ok..out of the 100+ that I ordered only 15 have died. I am in communications with John who has been very polite and helpful

Even with the cold temps? The emerald crabs I am positive are dead.

75 gallon. 4 fish, clown, yellowtailed damsel, flame hawkfish and sixline wrasse. I got 100 snails, dwarf ceriths, nassarius and nerites. A dozen asst. crabs, 5 emerald crabs. My main concern is the animals ability to survive the 48 degree temps and me throwing 125 dead animals in my tank. Assuming that most don't make it is that too much for my tank too handle?

Personally I wouldn't risk it. 48 is pretty dang cold for tropic marine life to survive. Why put a bunch of deadness in your tank, just to muck it up. Wait on John, he'll make it right :)

That is exactly what I am thinking. How about throwing everybody in a 5 gallon bucket with 4 gallons of tank water, a heater and a power head? Observe and then decide. I assume John is out of the office and I won't hear anything from him till tomorrow.
