All my original snails and hermits are alive in my 37 gallon, a year and a half later. Much harder to keep track in my 90, but I know all my hermits are still alive, and it's been a year.

My hermits are still alive and I have some nerites and some dwarf ceriths and one FL cerith still alive after 1 yr. The nerites seem to have fared better percentage wise.

You must have a euro braced or rimmed tank, because those snails always would end up crawling out of my tank...lol

Nope I have a bowfront w/a hood (now) and a topless 29g no ero bracing and not a single snail or fish carpet surfer (knock on wood). We do occasionally knock them back into the tank.
My hermit crab in the 46 did try go wall climbing the other day and got to w/in an inch of the top, then decided to go back down. Got & posted pics of the crazy little thing.

The 113 is eurobraced w/glass and has no center support so is gonna be cool and won't need to worry about the snails escaping with it...not that I worry now, lol :D

I find the nerites with the ridges climb out more than the smooth variety.

When I moved last summer, I found some wayward escapees.
