Hey Guys what would you recomend as far as aa clean up crew if there is a snowflake moray in the tank? I know they have a habit of snacking on crustaceans but do they eat snails and the like?

Snails and stuff are cheap, think of them as dual purpose snack/CuC. Thats what I do in my mantis tank. I still feed it but he snack when it gets the mood & about every month & a half or so I get reefcleaners to send me another mantis snack pack, er I mean CuC.

I dont know if an ell would bother an urchin, might be work looking into. I have a longspine & it is a cleaning machine.

    Agreed.

The snowflake moray has blunt teeth for grinding shells and will most likely eat anything when it's hungry, including smaller fish when it matures.

I know when I was little we had a snowflake in a 55 with 2 lions & a grouper and there was never any issues between but mainly cause the fish were all larger. Yes I did say a 55 and the hobby has changed alot in 30 years please dont go there. We fed them all minnows & goldfish so any fish that plus or minus eel mouth sized is potentially in danger.

Personally when I have had snowflake eels I never had to worry about them eating my hermits or snails. Just feed the guy shrimp, I used a kabob stick and since they have horrible sight, but an amazing sense of smell he would usually just swim around the tank until he ran into the shrimp. I was also able to soak the shrimp in vitamins and the like to help with his diet. Don't worry about these guys, for being crustacean eaters they aren't as hard to keep with CUC.
