Cucumber a Pukumber?

hey guys, im sayin helpppp
i just introduced this cucumber into my cleanup crew yesterday,
he was moving about fine, and i just walked past the tank a few
min ago, and my blue star was kinda on top of it, wasnt squezzing it
, didnt look like it anyway, so i reach in and move the star away,
and this funk started coming out of what i believe is the output of
the cuke, please tell me that is not its innerds, has anyone seen this happen?
should i send him to the septic tank party in the front yard?

 

Yes it is it's internal tissues, they do so as a defensive measure when under predation or stress. They will retract them if the stress is removed.

cool beans then, it is my first one so i freaked out and my
kid is crying, he dont handle death to well, i'll keep an eye on it
and once he is whole again ill move it to the back in the rocks where big
blue does not venture

Two things can happen which is even stranger,

1. If not completely expelled it may retract

2. More likely it will completely expell the organs and they grow back internally. Aliens I tell you!!!!!!!!!

 

Well my tank is still cycling. But I cant wait to get sea cucumber. They are the coolest and ugliest at the same time.

The idea is to try and fool the predator into thinking it has the actual animal. I believe I have also seen research saying that the organs taste bad or are some type of repellent.

When playing in tide pools or diving I have had them just do it slightly and some completely. Some have organs that look like purple silly string so yea it's bizarre.

Also they reproduce by diction. They will split in half making two. One of my Tiger Cucumbers did this. Strange creatures.
