    Hey everyone,

Why is it that my cukes spend the vast majority of their time stuck on the aquarium glass?

Just wondering if this is normal or AB-normal. Thanks in advance

i dont have one but almost everytime ive seen them theyve been stuck to the glass so this might be a normal thing. also they might stick to the glass during the day and become more active on the sand at night.

    Verbal,

What species and how many cucumbers do you have? Got pics?

We received 3 cucumbers as part of our "package" from Tampa Bay Saltwater. I think they are the Florida sea cucumber (Holothuria floridana)

Here's some pics. Overall not very interesting ... brown, spiny and they hang out on the glass. They're supposed to be detritivores

I belive Tiger cukes are better detrivores.  Those look like PITA green algeavores, eh?  Do they cruise the substrate when the lights are off?

    Thanks for the pics!

From what I can tell, they don't move very much. I took the pictures yesterday afternoon and those 2 cukes are pretty much in the same place ... may have moved a cm or so. I have seen them move pretty quickly on occasion, I don't know what sparks them, but these 2 are always on the glass. :-/:-/

The 3rd cuke was "missing" for a while ... we assumed he was still alive because our tank didn't get nuked. We found him today ... he is down on the sand bed in the back of the tank. This seems like more normal bevior :)
