Ok, I've read about every live rock thread on here and others.

I'm still wondering how I'm going to go about doing this.
I just bought a used tank with rocks. The rocks have been out of water for a while. Probably a week or more.
I got them 3 days ago.
I'm going to clean them up with bleach in trash cans. Several soakings.

After that I'm wondering how I'm going to start the cycle process.

I have 200lbs live sand and 220-250lbs live rock for a 180 gallon tank.
From the threads I've read, some say do it in the tank if it's a new tank, some say do it in cans, bins for easier water changes and less smell in the house.

I have plenty of trash cans/bins, but it all won't fit into one container. So I'm thinking I could get another heater and power head for each can or bin and do them in separate containers or fill up the tank half way and do it all in the tank.
I'm leaning toward doing it in the tank cuz I'm wandering if it will cure at different rates if it's in different containers.

Transporting that much RO water a couple times a week and getting it into the tank sounds like a big job.
    Any comments would be appreciated.
(BTW my local fish store wants $100 per hour to come out and give me advice... wow)

I would do it in the tank, it is much easier, especially for the amount of rock you have. If you bleach it, i would also soak it in a solution of baking soda too to help eliminate any chlorine left.

I would just scrub it off and throw it in the tank, since your just setting it up anyways.
I believe curing that is done outside of the tank is more used when you add rock to an already cycled system. If you havent done that yet, there's no reason why it cant cure in the tank for the first 10 weeks you have it up and running ;)
