The tank and inhabitants all came as a package deal, as mentioned in my hello post. I was curious about the white thing in the rock, but semi forgot about till the wife started askin me what it was again tonight.

Popping through some books and such she's thinking a squirt. I'm not sold on that due to shape etc.

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Sea squirts/tunicates have both a intake and outtake, so my bet is on sponge.

Second item is a leather of some sort that I didn't notice placing the LR back in the tank so was semi upside down for a few days. Looks kinda ragged at the moment but I attribute that to my error and it working to flip itself right.

Now moved to the better location/position shown in the pic.

First looks like a wad of epoxy lol but it's probably some sort of sponge. The second is definitely a confused/crooked leather. As to exactly what kind..not too sure.

Hoping the leather straightens and comes back to full form..

Looks healthy but rather 'annoyed' for lack of better words.

A common name for that leather is cabbage coral.

Sponge no not really, just try not to expose it to air.

At first it looked like a piece of expoxy to me as well.

    Unusual texture for a sponge.

Thank you.. will post a pic of the leather in a more presentable state when the time comes.

Now ya got me thinking that it very well may be a chunk of epoxy.

    Time will tell I guess.

    Thanks again.
