LOL a fish room might be to big but would be alot better IMO.

you could build like a pump house type of cover for it, insolate it and run a window unit to keep some sort of climate control in the summer and winter, pics would help ;D
I live in valdosta about 3 hours south from ya and have thought about the same thing and have looked into somthing like that, and a window unit and a few heters in the winter would be better. as far as the sump goes a 55 gallon would work.

well, since the tank is basically at the same level ( other than the stand) than the sump.. i cant really put a table that high up..

what i thought of maybe doing was something like a small "step" just so that the tank isnt entirely on the floor..
unless there is a way i can have my sump higher up and still get the water to flow down from the overflows.

I have in my mind to do it like if it was a shelve.. have the sump/ refugium in the bottom and then all the other equipment higher up. ( it will save me some space)

I will upload pics as soon as i begin this project :p

You've got me confused. Perhaps I should start over and read from the beginning of the thread.

or you can ask and i can try to clarify...

im just trying to build a refugium outside the stand.. i thought that maybe i could just put it out in the garage but there are some other variables that could make it impossible..

so i decided that making a fish room might be the best way to go about doing it.

Orrrrrr go option 3 :D build the fishroom put the sump lower then the dt so it can be gravity fed from the dt,build a shelf for a 3rd tank higher then the dt and have the sump pump into both the dt and te fuge and have thhe fuge feed the dt though gravity :).as for the fish room you could heat the tank with extra heaters and eithher cool the room using another ac unit or putting another hole or 2 in the wall to circulate into the house.

this sounds good too, but im trying to minimize the costs.. So i think it would be a lot cheaper to divide a 55G into a sump/refugium at the floor level and just pump it back.
