so is it ok to just trim back anthelia??? I heard somewhere that it could juice in my tank and start an Anthelia Epidemic? I would like to get it completely out of my system if i can. Its really pretty, it just grows to fast and spreads everywhere. Anyone have any ideas?

Cut them off then spread kalk paste on the remaining mat. Make sure you catch the polyps as you cut them because if they float away, they will grow wherever they land.

Yes, don't leave any floaters...they will find a place and grow, fast. I rescaped recently and found a dozen of them living under my rock in a little cave....crazy, I know. I usually trim mine back about once a month. Just use a sharp knife or razor blade to cut the tissue at the base and it should just peel off of the rock. It is really hardy...one little stem will grow into a whole colony. I try to give mine away, but a lot of the guys around here either have it or stay far away.

thanks rbok. yeah i think im gonna try to trade it or sell it or give it away. It is a little to much of a fast grower for my 14 gal biocube. thanks for the info. i am gonna start trying to remove it soon. It is just on a frag rock that is just laying on one of my main rocks in the tank. I am gonna just remove it before it starts growing onto the main rock!

just removed all of my anthelia. It pealed right off of the rock with nothing left behind HURRAY.... I also rearranged my aquascape and unlike other time i moved things around and didnt like the outcome, this time i absolutely love it. I added another peace of LR that has some beautiful red coraline algae. I will post some pics as soon as i am done messing around. thanks for all the help guys
