So I am trying to cut back some of my clove polyps to make room for some new SPS frags. I am okay with the cloves just as long as they don't kill my SPS. I CANT remove the rock from the tank, its one large piece in there and would be a mess to remove the whole thing.

    Current Live Stock:
    SPS/LPS/Softies/GBTA/MiniMaxi/2x Clown/Six Line Wrasse/2x Cleaner Shrimp/Reg & Blue Leg Hermits

Any help would be great, I have provided pictures to help.

Just take a razor and scratch away a clear spot.. ive seen a few sps that have blue cloves taking over the rock but they do not cause problems for their sps

Couldnt tell you how to cut it back but nice looking stuff you have there! WOuld love to find some locally I think I need to find a local marine club because every decent sized piece of coral is 100+ at a lfs and usually has aptasia growing in the tank or on the rock with the coral!

Thanks but I really regret it! The stuff is a weed! It's all over my tank, I'm okay with it just as long as its nice with my new SPS.

Does it help to eat up nitrates. Sounds very similiar to xenia where people say its a weed and to put it on its own island! I heard some people use xenia in place of macro algae I wonder if this would do the same.

Interesting I have no idea.. My nitrates are always at 0 so maybe they are helping out.

Im new to the SW tank has been up now for 2 months and I find myself wanting corals more and more sicne I bought the little xenia frag. Only problem is I can not yet keep a stable pH always shifts between 7.8-8.2 depending when I add buffer and time of day but the xenia is about a week old and seems to be doing fine
