I'm in the middle of my sump build and want to cut teeth in the glass baffle for my refugium. What tool and/or blade do i need to get this done?

Well, cutting holes involves basically grinding your way through the glass, so I imagine you'd want some kind of diamond-coated router bit.

is it glass or plexi glass, becasue if its glass most of the time there isn't any teeth cut into it its is just cut a little lower than the other glass so water can flow over it, It would be extremely hard to cut teeth with anything with out breaking them off in glass.

If its plexi then the best way to cut them is with a router or drill a hole at the bottom and then cut the out excess with a jig saw or something similar.

I had a shop cut my glass baffles. He attempted cutting the teeth a couple times with no luck. Needless to say I didn't want to pay for broken glass. I ended up having him cut out about 1"d x 5"l of the corner of the baffle. I then went to home depot and bought an 8" by 10" /1/4" thickness lexon plastic and cut that down to size for the teeth to fit in the cut out.

Really? Wow. Is the teeth really necessary?

It does help in keeping the stuff you want in your fuge in your fuge. How about just glueing a thin oeice of eggcrate to the top?

bsutton gave you the correct answer. ;D I did what 4phish recommended and used a piece of eggcrate, but I just laid it horizontally across the top of the baffle. It floats and stays perfectly in place.
