Fish are actually caught using cyanide?

    Why?

    Unfortunately, yes....some still are.

Why? Because it is easy. They just put cyanide into the water, (or set off explosives...not sure if they still are doing that...), the fish are stunned and they just scoop em all up.

There are a lot of places that do NOT do this anymore but from what I have read, just about all fish from the Phillipines...and one other place..I forget where at the moment...are almost all poisoned. They mostly never recover. :'(

I look for tank raised wherever possible...and otherwise...I try and find out if they are net caught....non-cyanide captured. But like GraviT said on the other thread....you are at the mercy of what the fish store tells you.

That is disgusting. I have never heard of such a thing. I always try to go for the tank-raised fish just because I thought that a fish "scooped out Nemo style" would not fair well in a tank. UNREAL!!! [smiley=furious.gif]

    That makes me sad.
