Cyano Algae due to old bulbs?

    I've just done a red slime remover treatment:
    I however will go upon replacing the bulbs and kept the lighting minimized for 8 hours and a half...
    I've also change my 3 pre filters in my RO unit,when I removed the former pre filters did they ever look gross..
    I've noticed that having the best quality upkeep with your RO unit is a must when battling all sorts of diffrent types of algae blooms...
    I also ran my UV for a few days to help ring out the excess nutrients that has been sitting in my reef for awhile ...
    excess nutrients help feed cyano to increase blooms..
    I've also thrown all my former foods for my reef noticing that it could also be a factor that the fishes seem way hungrier now that I've changed into nutrition reef..
