Cyano Eating Critters?

    I have Cyano growing in my tank. Was wondering what critters snails, crabs, etc ate the stuff.

    Some hermits will eat it but you need to find the source of the problem. Are you using RO water and do you have enough flow. Also how much are you feeding.

    I use RO/DI water i purchase from my LFS. I feed once a day. I have 4 power heads pumping. Plus the canister, emperor, refugium pump, and skimmer that contribute to the water flow. I have been using marine clean and it helped but still have some left. Cyano is a perfect excuse to buy critters. They have blue legs on ebay advertised to eat cyano.

    some eat it some don't and I have learned feed every other day the fish won't starve and what are you phosphates at

    Cerith snails will eat cyano but you need quite a few, Cyano is not an algae is a bacteria and the cerith snails do not work at it very much while the lights are on

    The best snail all around in my opinion does eat cyano and every other thing that you don't want in your reef if you can find them get them TOP CROWN SNAIL I have never seen anything else that comes close Cyano, Brown Algae, Green algae you name it gone.

    liveaquaria sells them, I'll be ordering a few when purchasing a cuc next week...hopefully then are very hungry, I dont have much cyano, but hair alga and diatoms are plentiful at the moment the lawnmower blenny and turbo snail are having a feast right now and not keeping up

    I had a chocolate chip starfish that loved to eat the stuff.

    Those snails are amazing I have 24 in my 120 gal tank and the place is spotless you will be very happy and yes they do eat fast.
